Order of blogs

By the way, make sure you read the blogs further down on the page first and move up. The most recent is the top one [this one at the moment]. The first three blogs are in reverse order than they should be, but it is not important for those ones and is a tad important for the latest ones.

Much Love from Zambia!

T. Joseph, the blogs are great! You've really done amazing things with letting us connect through you with the beautiful people you've met so far. I really enjoyed reading all these posts (in order!) its amazing what you're doing as a JF over there.

I heard through Anna-Marie that you're curious what will sell well at the silent-auction. But, I see you're experiencing the common experience that what might be sold at the tourist shops might not be actual traditional zambian art.

So here's my suggestion in two answers: first, wall hangings went really quickly. These included paintings as well as wood masks. A few stylised versions of common items went well too (such as this Ghanaian bead game I brought back). Second, I think everyone would really appreciate if you brought back some actual stuff that is used by the culture (maybe not too many Nelly T-shirts, but even if the culture is modernising its still culture) but something that might work well would be coloured clothing (such as the skirt you use as a table cloth) Items like that - just have fun with it. Bring us Zambia - or at least what is the closest to it (and I know its tougher to find).

As my final comment: the blogs were amazing. But can we see a bit about the job. Your initial post was great in explaining what the project was. I think we're all ready for something quick about issues encountered - or even the stories of how the people you work for and with have their lives affected (good or bad) by the illustrious earth dam.

Can't wait to keep reading,
-troy
